So it goes. The best news of the past 24 to report is that E is feeling much better, still suffering from a very suppressed appetite but managed the walk to the village (just over a mile) this morning and a few hours at Fishers Farm Park this afternoon before expiring.
S (7) drew this picture late last night called "My Family"
Left to right TDO (39 soon to be 40) KJP (me 40) EGP 5 (nearly 6) OJP 3 and (in the strawberry T shirt of 2012) SEP 7 (nearly 8)
We all have dream bubbles above our heads. Dinosaur War, Chocolate Cake, Tanks, Cars Cars and Moshi Monsters.
O at the "Hawking Around" display this afternoon - We met some of our local home ed friends there who we haven't seen in ages. Staff told me it was the busiest day of the year so far.
O and S and I made chocolate cornflake cakes this morning - Nigel Slater's recipe. S did the weighing and O did the stirring and I did the hot stuff.
A lick of paint at the park - We had scheduled a Not Back to School Picnic for today at our local park - the weather has been glorious - but we canceled it when we read the adjacent road was to be resurfaced. Despite a chilly start. The underfloor heating in the bathroom activated itself for the first time in a while.
There has also been glass painting with Weed today and lego playing. Plus TDO's monthly Friday off too. (which is why the photos of the owl handling are higher than regular quality)S really gains confidence with owl handling.
Operation Austerity & exercise
Managed the super loop walk today so just over 2 miles leg stretch and also bought forward a purchase for next week - £16 on an (obviously rather large) chicken. Running low of stock, the basis of many inexpensive meals and with the butcher closed on Monday and beach plans for Tuesday. Otherwise stuck to spend collecting bread. £5.00
It was rather nice (smug!) to sit down to breakfast today knowing lunch and supper were already made.
PS
It is rare for me to blog about the politics of home ed, there are others doing a far better job, but there is a parliamentary select committee next week which I will be keeping an eye on and you might like to too.
