Well, the reality is that unless this water stops gushing from the sky the name of this blog might have to be altered! In its 16 month life it is now one month in which our gallivants have been shrunk to more like a normal level of "going out." So far this week we have made it to only Fishers Farm and Parham House and have instead been in the stratosphere of: baking, battleships, lego, duplo, paper models and other such indoor pursuits.
In the last 24 we have baked Chocolate brownies (E, 5) Gingerbread biscuits (several batches of) (S, 7 ) and cheese biscuits (O, 3)
E read this page beautifully today
Yesterday's raspberries were not suitable for vegetarians
Chocolate letters and numbers - literacy and numeracy the unschooling way!
This battleships was TDO's when he was a child. I played with S today for the first ever time and she beat me! Great for coordinates.
E's new words in P&J yesterday were make, cake and let and help...........In Other News
There was a slow worm on the path when we arrived home yesterday, Regular readers will recall my guilt at accidentally standing on and killing a pregnant one in the garden last year so I was reassured to see the family still around. They can live for 35 years.
The awful weather is causing havoc at the allotment and slugs have munched through many of the crops and seeds. TDO is v annoyed.
I lazily popped my wellies on without socks this morning to whizz out for a paper and they suctioned themselves stuck on my feet! Talcum powder was needed to assist with removal!
S is re-reading Ruby Redfort today.
