It hadn't gone when I woke up this morning with laundry and shopping delivery under my feet. The Daddy One headed off for a haircut and I felt like everyone wanted me all at once! Up at the table with knew work books from Grandma yesterday when the trio realized I couldn't help them all simultaneously they soon lost interest and so a morning of me trying to catch up with Roman Strewing ahead of tomorrow's gladiator visit, lego pyramids and the injection of a small amount of new playmobil breathing fresh life into the existing stock of playmobil stumbled and bumbled along until the relay race moment when The Daddy One came home and I headed to the gym.
Every day there is a reason not to gym and today's was that I just didn't fancy it. Having eaten: pasta, bread, red meat and cheese for the first time in 3 months in the last 48 hours I felt like I had a brick under my belly button but I booted myself up the Roman Road and completed my program.
This afternoon, I took S & E to the local park which was busy with school holidays children whist TDO played scalextric with O then we came home and baked chocolate chip cookies using choc buttons from easter eggs in place of the chips ;-)
If I was organised more and tagged my posts more frequently then all the Romans posts would come together, I do like though, how we visit a topic for a while then leave it then come back to it. Most of the books pictures are very well read Usbornes that have featured on the blog before, Playmobil set 4270 brings it to life as do the lego gladiator mini figures. Play. It is a local history project too as we live on a Roman road.

I was looking at visiting the Fishbourne Roman Palace when we are in Sussex soon-would you recommend?
I find exercise a real push, there's always so many more things I could be doing! Well done for sticking to it though!
I too know that feeling when they all want help at the same time. We're trying to settle into a new routine here with HB wanting to be at the table so much now. Chiara is much more indepenant these days but still needs me from time to time. We will get there and find away. I think that is one of the many pros to home ed: not having to panic as they will learn and do so much faster when they do have that one on one time with you that does work out :)
So impressed with how well you're doing with your exercise and diet. I keep trying. You've motivated me to do my pilates more regularly again though, so thank you Katie xxx
There are blog posts on Fishbourne and Bignor.
The infrastructure at Fishbourne is more modern - the mosaics are covered with glass / wood / chrome but the actual mosaics are not as "good" (technical historical term) as those at Bignor imo.
This is us in Fishbourne back in August

One thing to watch for is the A27 - if it is a warm day for the beach then the road leading there gets seriously clogged and congested.
Rather overdid it at the gym yesterday - my quads, abs (ha ha) and triceps are very jelly!!
I totally agree Lisa - If it is tricky with 3 or 4 how on earth do teachers manage in a class of 30+
I just wasn't ready for it really - as we are sort of on holiday at home this week the table we mostly use for home ed stuff has actually been moved out of the way for the scalextric!! You know though that it must be done "now!"
Normally we have a pretty good groove and I am in tune with spotting opportunities for one on one time when others are sleeping / reading etc but that is what the gym has really messed up as I am using my get ahead of the curve at home time to row and stretch instead!!!
Have sort of stopped diet really - down 13kgs on a goal of 10kgs but am still eating far more healthily than I was previously :)
But I am biased towards Bignor as it is closer to our house and the staff and friendlier and more helpful.
Thanks Katie, I will have a think which to visit. Although I've looked at quite a lot of places to visit & lots of it depend upon weather and also travel times as we are staying in Hastings so will have to see how much travelling the peeps actually want to do!
There is a fair amount to do in and around Hastings as well and if you venture to Brighton and Hove even more so.
It would probably take over an hour to drive to Chichester from Hastings.
We'd come and meet you though. How about Hove or Shoreham? Hove has a cute little museum I have mentioned on the blog before............Be great to meet you irl x
