Made a mistake in yesterday's post as we spring forward one hour at the weekend so it is now just the 263 hours til we see The Daddy One again. Reminds me of twelve years ago when we first met counting the days!
So it is the spring equinox today, equal days and nights apparently. Not so for me though! Big Small, 7, had a nightmare and woke me at 1:47am. It was ages til she was ready to return to sleeping as every time she closed her eyes the film started again. I so remember that feeling from childhood.
It was a delight to open the curtains this morning and see Saviour Grandma coming down the path. We headed over to Chichester as I felt all of the smalls could do with a foot measure and, as such, was braced for a body blow to the purse but only S needed new footwear. two sizes bigger than last summer season's models. Unlike Gordon Brown in 1997 Grandma has picked the top of the market to sell some old gold jewelery and S really enjoyed listening to the negotiations in the jeweler's shop. We then offered her the chance to go to Pallant House (which is half price on a Tuesday) whilst the boys went to the park but she wanted to come to the park too so we stayed for a while, it is not fenced in and so about as unrelaxing as a park can be, before heading to Goodwood.
O, 2, loves Semi haulers thanks to the Disney Pixar film Cars cars and Mack and we often find a pretty cool one for him at Goodwood. For the price of a regular coffee in the Aero club you can watch small planes take off and land and occasionally see some pretty cool cars on the retro racetrack plus the boys love to go under the Rolex tunnel. Today was no exception O had a look at a pretty smart McLaren hauler and then on it's reverse it was hiding ten or so of these rather special cars. O was thrilled that many of them had twos on the side as that is his favorite number. I wonder if he will remember when he is old that his Mum knew where to find all the cool haulers!
It is an oddity of a place in so many ways. A decent size private plane, obviously containing someone pretty important/famous/loaded lands and, whilst others queue for hours through passport control, customs and baggage reclaim at Heathrow and Gatwick this passenger was in a blacked out car within seconds of the plane wheels touching the ground!
Home from there and Grandma held the fought whilst I headed to the gym. Always one hundred reasons not to go and yet no matter how tired at the start am always lifted by the end!
In Other News
I am grams away from the 10kg target I set myself
Grandma has modified the seeds lifting them up for more light.
There is something wrong with the camera on my phone and hardly any of the photos taken today appear to be on it :( which is a pain as I had some cool ones of O closer to the hauler and Grandma standing by a painted van that said "Gran takes a trip."
