Breathing Light iii

Boy I was shattered last night. It all rather came over me during supper when I realised that jacket potatoes for breakfast, preparing a picnic for 4 (even with all the cool new lock 'n' store tupperwares) and then making pizza as well as risotto and a bacon salad and The Daddy One's packed lunch was too much food and meal preparation. Yes, I know I am a short order cook and as such should not complain.

The Daddy One, who grew up in a family where there was one meal option, maybe give or take a few veg but a common core finds this more frustrating than I who was raised with people eating different meals (veggie Mum, red meat loving Dad!) at the same time but yesterday it got to even me!

and, although it was S who had tested me most it was E who felt it. Oh the paradox!

Anyway. Uber early night for all and brighter today. Made it to my spin class at 9:15 AM (one of the tracks was a raved up version of another brick in the wall - "Hey! Teacher, leave those kids alone!) then collected O, who was too snotty to swim, whist Grandma splashed about with S & E and their local home ed friend til lunch. S swam underwater for the first time today. Just the three different options on the menu today (haddock for the boys, cottage cheese and salad for me and Mum and yummy sausages from our fab butcher for S.) As I have blogged before family hot lunch at a winter lunch time is one of my best bits of being home with the trio. Two months into this diet I do reflect if this will be the summer in which mash potatoes and crumble will replace salad my having eaten so much throughout the winter!!

After swimming I popped down to the library for these new series of Spy Books "Jane Blonde" and S & E made more cakes with Mum./ They are really into their cakes atm.

Some of the Daddy Ones allotment seeds have germinated on the window sill. Of all my worries about a fortnight as a solo parent whilst he is away care of the seeds is number one.
