Sinnerman
They used this Nina Simone tune on Sherlock last night. The Daddy One remembers it from the Thomas Crown Affair. Beautiful beat. The perfect beat?
We have had a really neat connected day today. A brilliant Monday on what is, apparently, one of the most depressing days of the year. E did some Peter & Jane first thing, Reg arrived and set to work on the painting and we headed to the first of our 4 destinations. A small park in Pondtail Road with some home ed friends who we haven't seen since a new baby son arrived in their family just before Christmas. He is very cute. 8 weeks old. When I had to scrape ice from the inside of the car as well as the out I did wonder why we were even going out but soon the warmth of the sun melted the white frost. We lasted about an hour before E was showing all the signs of being fed up with being outnumbered by girls and O was pretty cold so we headed to our second port of call, Jungle indoor soft play at the pavilions in Horsham.Excuse the strange faces in the photo!
£9 gives the four of us an hour to leap around and play with the slides, football goal and shoot some baskets. Horsham is a popular destination for local home educators on a Monday as several gymnastics classes run at the pavilions during the day. We often talk about joining in but for the moment my trio seem happier to do soft play as a family.
Third, we headed into town for the post office and a very good look around the toy shop (no purchases.) No one much fancied the library or museum so we headed back to the big park for a forth destination, a final hour meeting up with about ten local families (I have mentioned before there are about 150 home educating families that I know of in West Sussex. We are red 41 on Fiona's map). It was really, really muddy so I was careful not to cake the newly cleaned car. Et was thrilled to find some boys to leap around with and, as well as bumping into our local butcher with his baby daughter, I actually managed to chat to some other home ed parents about: reading, letters and swimming against the tide.Home to find the veuve cliq kitchen project has a definite "Wow!" factor. S opened the back door and said "Wow!" It looks brilliant so far. A total transformation. She was very apprenhensive about the change last night. "This kitchen has been this colour since before I was born" she said. Indeed it had. Indeed it had.

That sounds like a perfect day.
Wow! You guys went playing at an outdoor playground for an hour during the winter? You're brave!
We have a gymnastics center that we like to go to during the winter. For $5 each kid, they get to play on all the gymnastic equipment. Plus there's a huge pit area filled with foam blocks that they can dive into. I feel so bad for the other kids who have to sit most of the day in school :(
I know Christina. All the way there in the car I kept saying "I don't know how long we will last!" We were wrapped up warm and althought it was frosty the sun did come out.
We go to soft play (sounds the same as you describe) a couple of times a week. We have membership to a nearby place called Fishers Farm which is great with an indoor slide and ball pit.
Yes, when I see the level of physical energy certain of my children have to burn I do wonder how they would cope in a classroom all day.
