Power Baby

So it goes. 24 hours since the last post, 24 hours in which we have had no electricity. Shortly after I published yesterday's, aptly titled, post a tree blew down next to the railway bridge close to our home taking a power cable with it and bam. The lights went out. Last night was a novelty, crazy chefs by candle light, random food, 12 hours sleep, no bath and plus we had Grandma.

When I walked up, as close as I could, to see the damage it was a tangled mess of 9 or so power cables woven in between the branches with a trunk right over the road blocking traffic north and south dangerously close to the railway bridge.

Undeterred this morning the making of dragons continued despite the cold! O, 2, likes the dragon from Mike the Knight, E has his playmobil dragons and S is getting into The Inheritance Cycle series so it is a project that appeals to all. Colourful card and scissors a go go!

We have come to cosy fishers farm for warmth and wifi, although it is really hectic thanks to an inset day, but it could be sometime before our power is restored.

It has been interesting so far. The novelty of torches and so on. Many many questions about people lived before electricity. Everything is a learning experience.
