I'm a little teapot

S and I have been talking about my collection of 30's tea and coffee pots today. They have been in this cupboard her whole life but she has only recently started to take an interest in them.

Baby Small, 2, has done 8 epic pooey nappies today and Middle Small, 5, missed the loo. Shitty. Literally. Body Fluids on the blog. Doesn't happen often. Principles not rules. The grime theme has continued as we (well, mostly The Daddy One in between a hair trim and further fence painting) have cleaned up and out the kitchen ready for the arrival of Reg the decorator on Monday.

The coursework for GCSE squabbling has continued. I am blaming January and a lack of outdoor action as it has been really cold today but that is pretty unimaginative I know. No doubt I am a contributor the world seems a sad place without cake and wine on a Saturday.

S has finished up making the Chinese fans she started with Smart Sandals yesterday and i have turned the cylinder of the dyson into one of those sand ornaments you used to be able to bring home from certain Islands as holiday souveniers before all the coloured sand ran out.

Isn't it lovely when they 'discover' something you've long appreciated? I love 30s design and have a couple of 30s tea sets (packed away in boxes now as Cupcake's art materials have taken over the dresser they used to be displayed on).

I can hardly wait for her to ask about that period so I can bring them out of the attic and shed and tell her how I acquired them.

I hope your family is feeling better. We have really bad colds here.

Thanks Christina. The boys are not unwell. It is chocolate. They ate lots on Friday and it has a terrible laxative effect on both of them. It is an aspect of unschooling I struggle with, allowing them to make free choices when the clear up job falls, mostly, to me!

Usually an increase in squabbling is a sign something is on the way but so far this winter we have been fortunate. We have stopped going swimming this winter as I have found in previous winters that hasn't been great re colds etc.
