Friday today so 2 hours of extra adult help. I took advantage to whizz out with Baby Small in the buggy. Oh how I miss my big, sprung emmaljunga prams. Pushing a buggy is joyless! But, in need of the exercise, I soldiered on to the: post office, library, park, greengrocers and up the hill to the supermarket and butchers. Maybe a 3 mile round trip. The first stagger up Potts Lane of the year and also an opportunity to see THE tree, the one that left us without power for 24 hours. Looking all innocent there with its clear blue sky background.
Came home to find a table covered in dragons, S has some new Roman Mysteries thanks to the library. We had a chat about V and IV.
After lunch we called by to see some home ed friends in our neighbouring village and took their dog for a walk in Monkmead Woods which is close to their home. They have made a den there. The woods are home to a rare yellow flag iris and the site of a Roman Road too but mostly we enjoyed chocolate panetonne :)
Two walks for me today. Fortunately sweet potato mash, sweet chilli sauages and spring cabbage followed by pear crumble are heading my way later when I have cooked them. 24 hours minus power rather knocked me off my post holiday meal planning groove but I'm getting back there. Look out blackboard here I come!
