Having a ''ing'' Sunday today. A verb of a day. My parents are here. Washing, cleaning, polishing, hoovering and that's just the cars, both of which have MOTs this month (for my growing tribe of overseas followers an MOT is a test that a car over 3 years old must have, by law, in England basically to ensure that it is road worthy and mechanically sound. It can't be taxed or insured without it. Whether it is clean or not is not on the test but I am sure it helps:))
The Daddy One has been painting the fence, and before you worry that he is a very slow worker, it might help to know we have over 70ft of fence panels in our garden. It's looking good. Solid Black.
Operation clear out kitchen has continued, Reg, the decorator, arrives tomorrow. Ironing has been done too as has much playing, E on his scooter outside, S has been on KS2 bytesite doing some of the English (plurals, poetry, paragraph structure) and science (rocks, mineral, teeth and life cycles.) I was in the background ironing listening to the computer and my feeling is that she has finished KS2 byte size now. She didn't get a question wrong. I did. Similes and metaphors were never my strong point ;-)
Spotted the first snowdrops of 2012 in the garden today, alongside the Camellia which has been in flower since November, seasons are very confused this year and, more importantly, I been significantly less grumpy than my post yesterday. I have realised that certain cycles need to be broken. The best way to stop feeling sad about not having a biscuit with my tea is to stop having tea. And so I have!
Isn't it great when you find what you need to read just when you need to read it? Yesterday I read this blog post about over scheduling and doing too much which really resonated with me. The fact I had a supplementary piece of paper to the blackboard should have given me a clue.

I'm so glad something I wrote helped you. I think I write down most of my thoughts simply so I can go back and remind myself what I've written!
I liked reading how your daughter was working on academic type stuff of the computer - on her own. Funny how many people think kids need to be forced into that. I couldn't possibly be fun, right? :)
She loves it. As she has never been to school she makes no distinction really between work and play and is never forced to do stuff so she just picks it up as she pleases really.
KS2 is the school term for Key Stage 2 (age 7-11) my daughter is 7 - All of the BBC educational websites are top rate in my opinion but she particularly likes byte size as it is based on several TV shows she knows.
and on a Sunday as well ;-)
I totally agree re reminding and rembering - I have posted links to several old blog posts on recent debates that I have been involved in.

When I say she has finsihed KS2 I mean the KS2 on the website rather than the whole curriculm! But that is okay because we are not following a curriculum!
