Want You in My Soul (re-re-wind- come again!)

Want You In My Soul
I know, I know, I have used this song before but it is still in my head. Gilles Peterson played it again on his show on Tuesday night. It really is perfect.

This weekend is the 10 month anniversary of the gallivanter's blog. I had thought it was 10 months last month but clearly there are issues with my counting ability.

Oh, how I wish I had blogged from the beginning, of home ed, of parenting and, given my shocking memory of life really. Although judging by the jaw drop that greeted the announcement that once you could only watch live TV and I was 12 before we owned a device called a video that was capable of saving programs "So, what you are saying is that there was no iplayer?" that is not a road I wish to travel.

And I wish I had tagged my posts properly so that I could find things again. Oh well, who knew which way it would go. In the beginning I really didn't expect anyone would want to read about our adventures, more I just fancied writing and keeping a record for annual reviews and so on but yesterday there were 300 page hits! 37,460 since the blog began 10 months ago. Truely incredible. Thank-You for reading and thank-you all for your kind comments. Writing this blog has made me feel that I do something really worthwhile with my days and the fact others are interested in reading it is genuinley really fantastic. I figured we were a minority interest but I guess that is the beauty of blogging. Lego, resources, home education, breastfeeding, parenting, museums, book reviews, trip advisor. It's all in here!

Much about reading at the moment. Lots of comments on my post that mentioned phonics and several DMs and PMs about whole word learning.

This post has a few good links and this one too but because I blog by day rather than by subject it is all a bit cross curricular - I could do with a matrix!

E did some Peter and Jane today. He is back on track and I am sure he knows more than he is revealing! He is very comfortable in the Book 3 zone. I am more than satisfied with that for a just turned 5 year old.

The Daddy One slept in really late after his trip, as did everyone apart from me actually. We have legoed today, made a jungle base and an ice base and S has arranged, choreographed and designed a play of Thumbelina for the Barbies to act in later.

I am not good in winter. Worrying as technically it is still Autumn for a few days longer. The cold and dark is not my bag. A summer baby I am. That said considering it is a full moon today and we have hardly left the house the squaballing has been very minimal (I'm talking me not The Smalls obviously!)

I just wanted to comment that I like that you often open your posts with a music link. As much as I love music, it's something I should do more often. I guess I'd need to blog more often to have music links on my posts. (grin)

Now I'm off to compose/post a lengthy comment on your recent phonics post.

Thanks Frank - My dancing is mostly limited to round the kitchen these days :-) Almost all of the blog song titles are in a youtube playlist undrer katiejpybus. I can play them via the pc onto the sonos (i.e all around the house) now. I might have missed out one of two but most of them are there.
