Friends over today. The boy ones are playing with the playmobil Roman Arena and this lego Ferrari set and, in advance of the astronomy home ed match box swap for next week, the girl ones are looking at S's ceiling for inspiration. They have also been playing Barbies and talking unicorns and painting unicorns. The baby one and I are playing trains and painting racetracks!
The friends bought with them some home made chocolate chip cookies. We have had a home made shepherd's pie for lunch. Well, some of us, one of our number ate most of a cantaloupe melon instead :0)

Loving that ceiling! Shepards pie and cookies, am jealous and hungry!
On the way home..''what was that melon you liked so much?''....response ''I don't remember but was orange flesh''....''oh! cantaloupe'' ((so I make mental note to buy more cantaloupe) and I's response ''how do you know it was cantaloupe?''. which led to ''Orange=Cantaloupe, Green=Honeydew and Red=Watermelon' (and I've no clue if this matches what it's called in England!)
Cheers Zoe - It was all The Daddy One's hard work this time last year in fact as we finished it just around S's 6th birthday. It is fibre optics and is the actual constellations with a moon light too. Odd to see it on in the day time as it is normally only on at night when you can't see the clouds.
We landed up having beef mince lasagne for tea Zoe after lamb mince Shepherd's pie for lunch I'll be looking for a volunteer at nappy change time tomorrow! We have the most amazing local butcher. Have made for or five freezers meals today too. Watch me go!
Yes, Louise it was a cantaloupe. We did talk about the label on it. Special offer in sainsburys atm ;-) Yummy
Sorry if this is OT, but you have cool floorboards! ;)
Why thank-you! Can take no credit for them as they were here when we moved in 8 years ago. Those ones are in the upstairs front bedroom - they are hazardous for lego and playmobil though as the gaps between are just the right size.
We have floorboards downstairs too, they are lovely and cool in summer but a bit drafty in winter.
When I go back over old blog posts I often think our house looks really messy in the background but I figure if someone is reading this blog to consider home ed why give them a false impression..........
I love your floorboards Katie and would love some like that in my next house....so practical when you live with felines (am fed up with aqua-vack-ing :D )
