Lady Day & John Coltrane

Woke up this morning, opened my eyes and my first blinking thought was "I'm cured, 25 years of chronic myopic gone. I can see." Then I remembered I had fallen asleep with my contact lenses on. Bugger. The -7.5 and -8.5 will be around for a while yet I suspect. Big Small watched Jason and the Argonauts til late last night. Middle Small tried to watch it but he was too scared of the monster. I bought the wrong version of The Clash of the Titans, modern remake not old school classic, so that needs to be swapped. When will we be able to buy movies to download like itunes? Once you have bought the disc and copied it on to windows media centre it is totally redundant. But then with old films at around £3 a go it is, bizarrely, cheaper to buy them than rent in most cases. No one has gone swimming today for which the washing machine is very grateful. Thursday is the day our cleaner comes so that is four loads before any other activity occurs! There was a, nothing to do with us, body fluids incident that cleared the pool last night apparently which reminded me of my early swimming days and the sign on the wall which read "Welcome to our Ool. Notice there is no P in it. Please help us to keep it that way." There was another sign further along the wall which said "No heavy petting" but it was years before I knew what that one meant. Instead The Daddy One, who has shaved away the facial hair by the way, has taken Biggest Small to Pallant House art gallery in Chichester as it is free entry on a Thursday evening. There is a Robin and Lucienne Day exhibition on at the moment which looks fabulous. They are also calling in on the way home for paint testers for the kitchen which has hung on as long as any room can waiting for full scale, north of £20,000, re~modelling but is going to have to have a temporary lick of £200 freshness instead. Perhaps I should get The Daddy One to do a guest post and fill in the missing bits from this week there are rumours of a Daddy and all three smalls day tomorrow, if this is true it would be the first one ever I think. The only real child free time I have had in the last year I have used to attend La Leche League events which strikes me as a little odd really leaving my children to talk about breastfeeding and attachment parenting but there you go. Tomorrow I am thinking pedicure! The Smalls have had a playdate this morning with a lovely local home ed family we know and been to early morning gymnastics. Middle Small has re-read 2B to me this afternoon in several goes. he doesn't like any background noise at all when he is reading so we have to find our moments. Be on to 3 if a moment arises tomorrow and then back to 4 where we stalled before, hope we sail through this time. Voted today. Yes to AV. In some countries people queue for hours and run the risk of death to vote I just had to run the gauntlet of our scariest neighbour but luckily for me the wife of our allotment neighbour was behind the table to hand me my forms which, this time, I managed to post in the appropriate boxes. S asked if we could vote for a new conservatory. Am organising a fun week next week to cushion the fall when we are back to a, mostly, foursome. Several people have messaged me asking for an Ancient Civilizations resources list. Before I starting blogging Big Small was into Ancient Eqypt and Middle Small crazy about Romans so we have a pretty comprehensive selection of: books, films & toys to write about. What a shame that examined history on the school syllabus doesn't include any of the good stuff! In Other News It rained this morning for the first time in maybe a month?
