Childhood is not preparation for life, childhood is life.

The Daddy One has taken the big smalls swimming and baby small is asleep so I have just found a window to do something I have been wanting to do for a few days now and that is to catch up on the new people that have started following me and take a look at their blogs. Well, I can't hoover, it would wake the baby ;-)
Something I read reminded me that I have seen variants on this quote "Childhood is not preparation for life, childhood is life" popping up in a few places over the last few days and I wondered where it was from and as I was googling it I found this one too "Education is not preparation for life: Education is life itself." - John Dewey (1859-1952) I adore quotes, always used to pepper my undergraduate economics essays with them. On my to do list is building up to something quotable......
Been listening to the Jamie XX remix of Gil Scott Heron today and the smalls have been reading, and reading and reading and Middle Small has finished re-reading Peter and Jane 2a beautifully and Big Small has been doing sequencing with The Daddy One and watching Bolt and on the Playmobil website (again!) Ancient Egyptians this time. It's all about history at the moment. Don't they know it's a Bank Holiday?

Hi KP, thank you for following my blog! It's very nice of you to suggest my reading post would be suitable for liveotherwise on twitter but I wouldn't have a clue how to do it! Although I would love to think it could help even one newbie!
I really love reading your posts!
